Hyaluronic acid is the most-used and most-misused step in modern skincare. The fix takes about three seconds.

It is a sponge, not a source
Hyaluronic acid does not add water to your skin. It holds water that is already there — a humectant, drawing moisture in and keeping it close to the surface.
Which means it needs something to work with. Applied to bone-dry skin in dry air, it can pull moisture up from deeper down and let it evaporate. That is why some people find it leaves skin tighter, and conclude it does not suit them.
The damp-skin rule
Apply it within about a minute of cleansing, while your face is still slightly wet. Not dripping — just not dry.
Pat a few drops in, do not rub. Then seal it straight away with a moisturizer, before the water has anywhere to go.
Our Hyaluronic Acid Serum is vegan, cruelty-free and suits all skin types. It is step two of the PM Routine, right after cleansing.
Before or after moisturizer?
Before. Always.
The general rule is thinnest to thickest, and a serum is thinner than a cream. More importantly, moisturizer is the lid — it locks the hydration in. Put it on first and the serum has nothing to reach.
So: cleanse, serum on damp skin, then Night Renewal Creme at night or Oil-Free Daily Moisturizer in the morning.
If it still feels tight
Dry indoor air is usually the culprit — heating in winter, air conditioning in summer. Two things help: apply to skin that is genuinely damp, and never skip the moisturizer over the top.
Using less also helps more than people expect. A few drops is the whole dose.
Pairing it with niacinamide
These two work together without any trouble, despite what the internet occasionally claims. Niacinamide Vitamin Boost Serum in the morning, hyaluronic acid at night, is a clean split that keeps both routines short.
The quiet takeaway
Damp skin, pat do not rub, moisturizer straight after. Same serum, completely different result.
The Ingredient Glossary keeps the terms plain, and Build Your Routine helps with the order.
